Introduction

At St Joseph’s Primary School we acknowledge parents as the first and foremost educators of their children.

We understand that good education is a result of an active partnership between the school and family. To support and encourage this partnership St Joseph’s is a school where parents are not only welcomed but encouraged to be part of school life.

Some of the many ways parents can be involved in our school community include:

  • Classroom and excursion help
  • Volunteer at the events held throughout the year such as; Mothers Day Stall, Fathers Day breakfast, School Fete to name a few
  • Parents and Friends Committee member
  • Attendance at class Mass
  • School Advisory Committee

Classroom assistance

Teachers are often looking for parent volunteers to help with various classroom activities and functions including hearing reading, assisting with Math’s groups and much more. Parent helpers need to provide a current working with children check and vaccination status to the school office.

Swimming and Sporting Program

The school holds and participates in numerous sporting carnivals. These events require the assistance of many parents.
